Planned Presenters--scheduled to appear*:
Shearon Roberts is a genetic counselor from Mission Hospital.
Shearon works with pediatric, prenatal, and adult patients as a genetic counselor. Her responsibilities include gathering histories, coordinating patient testing, referrals, and exams as needed, and providing families with clear information, discussion, and support system referrals. She's witnessed almost unbelievable progress in the genetics field and is honored to share that excitement and knowledge. She earned her BS in Biology from Meredith College in Raleigh, NC and her MS in Medical Genetics from the University of Wisconsin. She is a certified genetic counselor by both the American Board of Medical Genetics and the American Board of Genetic Counseling. Prior to her tenure at Fullerton (more than a decade now), she worked for the Center for Molecular Biology and Pathology at LabCorp, and at the University of Florida/Shands Hospital and Clinics in pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology.
Shearon is afflicted with the travel bug, and also takes advantage of the WNC mountains to bicycle and hike. She gives back by her involvement with local and international advocacy issues. She and her partner are owned by three cats.

This meeting will focus on adults who are 47,XXY, 47,XYY and other X and Y chromosome variations. The meeting will also serve families of children with these conditions.
Organizers expect to draw participants and their families from GA, SC and NC and the greater Southeast. The downtown Asheville meeting space is near hotels for those who travel.
While small children are welcome, meeting organizers are NOT able to provide childcare services. Please plan to have someone available to supervise your child.
It may be possible for attendees work together to arrange for one or more of them to provide ad hoc childcare, but these arrangements will be the responsibility of parents.
If you would like to volunteer to help with childcare, please let us know.
We are reaching out to a very widespread geographic area, because there are no other active support groups in the southeastern US that are conduction face-to-face support group meetings. We encourage you to make the trip. Asheville is a beautiful place to visit. We suggest you plan on staying a few days.
