New York Area Support Group for X and Y Chromosome Variations
(XXY, XYY, XXX, XXYY, XXXXY, XXXX, XXXY, XXXXX)
The next meeting
Sunday, November 9, 2014
The New York Area Support Group for X and Y Chromosome Variations will meet from 1 to 4 pm on Sunday, November 9, at St. Charles Hospital, 2nd Floor Board Room, 200 Belle Terre Road, Port Jefferson NY 11777. A clinical psychologist will speak on the importance of neuropsychological testing in obtaining appropriate services for both children and adults with extra X or Y chromosomes. Because persons with XXY, XXX or XYY usually have IQs in the normal range, testing targeted at identifying specific areas of disability can be critical in obtaining special education services, vocational and college accommodations, and government benefits, such as SSI.
There will be tea and coffee available. We always appreciate donations of no-calorie soda, juice, and snacks such as pretzels. A donation of $5 per attendee at the door is requested. No facilities for children are available at St. Charles.
: To confirm your attendance, please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org
by November 4.
