The tentative agenda for the April 21 meeting is as follows:
Ø Opening—Welcome, introduction of new participants, announcements,
Ø Break-out sessions—a specified time where individuals can get together and chat based on specific backgrounds such as men with XXY or parents of children with XXY, children with XXY, etc.
Ø Mingle opportunity—individuals are given opportunity to mingle with all attendees and connect again individually or in small groups of their own formation.
Ø Closing—last announcements.
The inaugural meeting on March 17th for the X & Y Chromosome Variation Support Group (Greater Salem OR/WA) was well attended. There were a total of 10 people. People were able to share and connect with one another and some will even meet outside of our monthly meetings. Everyone stayed beyond the meeting’s end for quite a while to meet with each other. This is why the group was formed—to connect people with similar backgrounds—those having to deal with X & Y chromosome variations in either themselves or loved ones. Feedback was very positive and participants were greatly encouraged.
