Are memberships tax-deductable?

Memberships may be tax deductible to the extent the membership fee exceeds the fair market value (FMV) of member benefits. FMV of basic member benefits (access to discussion groups) is: Adults—$5; Individual/Family—$10. FMV for Members who take advantage of discounts on conference registration, videos, and the $47 Club equals the full cost of membership. This is not intended to be tax advice.
