Online Discussion Group Rules

  1. Please keep posts on topic.  Each discussion group focuses on a particular age and stage of development and on issues surrounding one or more X and/or Y chromosome variation and its associates.

  2. Don’t Flame Others.  Flames are angry and hurtful posts. They have no place on a support list and will not be tolerated. See next item.

  3. Be Tolerant.  It’s okay to disagree.  It’s NOT okay to attack other members personally.  Be polite even when you’re angry. If you’re too angry to be polite, don’t post, or send a private e-mail instead.

  4. Don’t Discuss Politics or Religion. Discussion on these topics always seems to generate more “heat than light”. There are plenty of other discussion groups on the Net for these topics.  If you care to discuss politics or religion, subscribe to one of those.

  5. Don’t Advertise. Don’t advertise your product, your service or your organization. (Yes, we know that you free email folks - like Juno and Hotmail - can’t get around your emails having a Juno or HotMail footer, and that’s okay...)

  6. Feel free to use Emoticons to show emotions in your message.  Email can be a very emotionless media (you can’t see the sender’s expression.) Emoticons sometimes make it easier to gauge emotion and it’s better to be explicit than misunderstood.

  7. Cut, Just Don’t Hit Reply. To make it easier for other people to read your posts, cut out all of the original post except for the few sentences that you are replying to.

  8. Send Chat Via Private Email.  Depending on the topic, some of KS&A’s lists can generate lots of posts.  If you want to talk off-topic, discuss the weather, tell your latest joke, tell someone about the latest Internet virus scare, etcetra, send it to them via private email.

  9. Don’t Post Copyrighted Material. Don’t copy copyrighted pages and send them as posts. Instead copy and send the URL for the page where the information is located.

  10. Ways to Handle Abusive Email.  If you feel that you are being abused via private email by topics you might contribute on this list, click here for some suggestions.

  11. Respect Privacy and Confidentiality.  Don’t repost messages from this list without the author’s permission.

  12. The Adult List is purposely less restrictive.  The Adult XXY list is designed primarily for adults affected by the 47XXY and Klinefelter syndrome, their families and others interested in discussing XXY and variants for this age group.  All subscribers are welcome to join this list provided they understand and acknowlege that the subject matter allows for certain adult topics that may not be appropriate for all audiences since, from time to time, topics discussed may entail more mature subject matter.

Subscribers violating these rules may have their posts rejected and continued abuse may cause the offending party to be suspended from participation or permanently removed the discussion group.
