In Memory of Jason Holley

It is with great sorrow that we learn of the untimely death of Jason Holly (pictured at right).  We pray that for Jason’s mother, Jan, and his immediate family and friends, this will be the close of a horror story and the beginning of a process of finding peace.

Since we first learned of Jason going missing, all of us hoped for the best and tried to do what we could to aid in his safe return. Regrettably, our worst fears have been realized.

As many of you know, Jason was 22 years old, and he was XXY.  The medical literature tells us that persons with the conditions KS&A serves often have an uncommonly gentle nature and quiet demeanor, others are slower to mature, and still others have more limited executive functioning.  As in this case, these traits can increase the chances of being drawn into situations fraught with danger.  It is my hope that we can use this senseless loss to help those of us who survive Jason to better protect others in our community who are at heightened risk. And in this way, to offer a lasting tribute to his life.

I wish that all of us were together to share a group hug. It is times like this that I feel closer together, and more in need of the community we strive to create through this organization.  With deep sorrow, I offer KS&A’s condolences on this terrible loss.  Provided below is an opportunity for you to add your own comments for Jason’s family and friends, and for other members of our extended family.
