We are aware that a number of KS&A members are uninsured. For some of our members, this is because your employer does not offer group health insurance. Regrettably, for others, the cost of traditional health insurance may be beyond reach at the present time.
In order to address this need, KS&A is seeking to arrange for accident insurance and what we anticipate may be an attractive mix of supplemental benefits. These benefits may be custom tailored to an individual’s needs, or purchased in the package we believe may be best suited to our members, with or without optional vision and dental benefits.
Standard Package
For approximately $12.00 per month (less than $145 per year), the Standard Package includes the following benefits for you, your spouse and legal dependents:
Nurse Hotline – Free access is available 24-hours a day through a telephone hotline number to an experienced registered nurse who will provide immediate, reliable health information, support and education for callers when a member or a family member is sick and in need of some expert medical advice without having to see a physician. Nurse hotline can provide general medical information on all types of health concerns, answers about medication usage and interaction, and concerning over-the-counter drugs that may be helpful. Physician and Hospital Network Discount – If you must see a doctor or be hospitalized for a procedure that is not covered under the Accident Policy, you will save an average of 10% to 30% and more from over 285,000 providers in one of the nation’s largest PPO networks, including hospitals*, family physicians, specialists and other health facilities, including for cosmetic surgery procedures. For hospital visits, members must pre-register before any procedure(s) are performed, and a representative will coordinate all of the resources and negotiate with the provider / facility for a contracted savings. $2,500 Accident Insurance – Provided that you have been enrolled for 30 or more consecutive days, if either you or an immediate family member (defined as a spouse up to the age of 70 or child up to the age of 19) is injured and needs medical attention, with just a $100 co-payment, you will receive up to a maximum of $2,500 per person, per occurrence, per family member, to pay all of the Reasonable Expenses incurred for such care. $5,000 Accidental Death or Dismemberment – Provided that you have been enrolled for 30 or more consecutive days, if you, your spouse up to the age of 70 or a child in your family up to the age of 19 dies or loses a limb or sight as a result of an accident, you will receive according to a schedule a death and dismemberment benefit of up to $5,000 per primary insured, $5,000 per spouse and $5,000 for each child. Premium Package
For about $26 per month (approximately $310 per year), the Premium Package includes the following benefitsfor you, your spouse and legal dependents:
Counseling – Free unlimited telephone-based counseling services are provided 24 hours a day and 7 days per week by counseling professionals with a master’s degree and at least 5 years of professional experience. Services are confidential and will not jeopardize employment. Counselors follow-up and monitor progress until the member is satisfied. If a referral to a local professional is appropriate, you are entitled to a discount of between 20% and 35% off normal billed charges with any of over 27,000 traditional counseling service providers. Doctors Online – Free confidential, online, direct personal interaction through email with licensed, board-certified physicians who can answer questions about illnesses and symptoms, provide personal advice, suggest treatment alternatives, and provide a personalized healthcare plan, nutritional and fitness advice as well as links to other healthcare resources. Physician Hotline - A 24-hour a day, 365 days a year hotline where members can speak with a board eligible, primary care physician in all 50 states who specializes in telephone medical consults. The doctor diagnoses the problem and, if appropriate, phones in a prescription to the member’s pharmacy of choice. Members can talk with a physician quickly – usually within 30-40 minutes, but always within a maximum of 3 hours of calling – for a flat fee of $35 per medical consultation. More...

Optional Supplemental Benefits
For an additional $5.25 per month (approximately $63 per year), KS&A members enrolling in either the Standard Package or the Premium Package can add both dental and vision benefits, as follows:
Dental Benefit – KS&A members who elect to enroll in the optional dental benefit will save an average of 30% and up to 50% on everything from general dentistry and cleaning to root canals, crowns and orthodontia.
