The following individuals serve in operating staff positions, helping to provide resources for all of the X and/or Y chromosome aneuploidy conditions KS&A supports -
Director of Education
The Director of Education is a part-time volunteer staff position, appointed by and reporting to KS&A’s Executive Director. Key responsibiities include:
- Creating and implementing educational projects that utilize new technologies to expand KS&A’s ability to reach and provide access to broader audiences on an on-going basis, thereby multiplying the impact of KS&A volunteer labors and restricted resources.
- Expanding KS&A’s utilization of new electronic communications mediums and formats in educational demonstration projects targeting health and educational professionals and research communities and the broader public with interest in increasing knowledge about X and/or Y chromosome variations.
- Securing the funding to support educational projects under his or her purview and participating in larger efforts to provide development and fundraising mechanisms to support these and other KS&A program initiatives.
- Using KS&A’s interactive voice response (IVR) telephone system, ListServs and other organizational tools to fulfill these tasks.

Director of Scientific Communications Services
The Director of Scientific Communications Services is a part-time volunteer staff position, appointed by and reporting to KS&A’s Executive Director. Key responsibiities include:
- Collection, review and dissemination of relevant scientific information from key scientific journals and medical publications.
- Leadership in the initiation and overall execution of database assembly and coordination projects, as well as publications and creative dissemination projects.
- Serving on strategic work teams and interaction with KS&A scientific development teams and internal and external experts, investigators and clinicians.
- Evaluation and interpretation of scientific data, including the development of appropriate messaging points and tailoring such information to be appropriate to specific audience needs.
- Identifying trends within relevant research fields as well as the needs of the various communities that KS&A serves and/or that would benefit by having access to this centralized resource.
- Creation of summaries of scientific publications that will keep KS&A’s information about X and Y chromosome aneuploidies of the highest quality.
- Employment of excellent communication skills to help facilitate internal working relationships and constituent support and garner exceptional thought leader rapport.
- Utilization of KS&A’s Web-based centralized database system, Interactive Voice Response (IVR) telephone system and other organizational tools to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
- Participation, subject to increased organizational funding and capability, in scientific symposia, attendance at professional conferences, and engagement in scientific/medical discussions with key opinion leaders according to the strategic plan and objectives of the KS&A organization.
