Standing CommitteesIn accordance with Resolution No. 06-008, KS&A’s Board of Directors created four standing committees to oversee a number of key aspects of the business and affairs of KS&A. Such committees are authorized under Article V of KS&A’s By-Laws, and their membership consists of a combination of Directors and persons who are not current directors. The respective duties and responsibilities of each of these committees are listed below, together with the names of the chairperson and vice-chairperson for each. If you would like to be volunteer to serve on any of these committees or would like to contact KS&A about a topic coming under any of their respective duties, please contact KS&A’s offices.
Charter: The Finance and Governance Committee is responsible for making financial, liability and governance recommendations to the Board of Directors, including but not limited to interpreting and recommending changes to the Bylaws, reviewing and developing policies, identifying investment policies, providing financial and insurance liability review and oversight, reviewing the audit, ensuring adequate accountability oversight, conducting nominations and elections and orientating new Directors. Chairperson: Melanie Blanchard Vice Chairperson: Richard Bregante Members: Darrell Haag, Jr.; Doug Lawrence and Robin Levy
Charter: The Program Committee is responsible for overseeing KS&A’s current programs of support, education and membership; assessing gaps in the programs we currently provide; and envisioning new programs to meet these unmet needs. Chairperson: Shiela Clark Vice Chairperson: Myra Byrd Membership: Currently recruiting 6 additional members
Charter: The Fundraising Committee’s principal focus is to recommend fundraising goals and strategies to the Board, and either to implement them or to recommend the specific process of implementation. Chairperson: Louise Gane Vice Chairperson: Dave Wright Membership: Currently recruiting 6 additional members
Charter: The Research Committee’s charter is to identify and propel the research goals of importance to the populations served by KS&A. The committee suggests KS&A’s broad research agenda, identifies available resources and, through a designated Board Liaison, prioritizes these goals through an iterative dialogue with the KS&A’s Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC). Chairperson: Ilene Fennoy, MD (Dr. Fennoy also serves as the Board Liason with the SAC) Vice Chairperson: Doug Lawrence Membership: Currently recruiting 2 additional members
