Myra Byrd

Freelance Writer

Myra is a freelance writer and former paralegal specializing in toxic tort management.  She began her career with Legal Aid of Broward County (Florida) in Family Law.

She is a full-time mom and the mother of six children, including three adult children and three kids who are still living at home, of which her youngest, Andrew, was pre-natally diagnosed as 47XYY.  Myra’s husband, Michael, is a partner in the Houston offices of a prominent Texas law firm, where his practice specializes in oil and gas transactions.

In addition to serving on the Board of KS&A, Myra serves on the Board of Directors of the Unitarian Church of Midland, Officers’ Wives Club and River Oaks Montessori in Houston.  Additionally, she volunteers her time with various public schools, Girl Scouts, Medical College of Virginia and several professional organizations.

Myra attended Mississippi University for Women.  After receiving a degree in nursing, she attended Atlantic Coast Legal Institute, from which she earned a Certified Legal Assistant (CLA) credential.
